Exploring Arches and Canyonlands parks - The Art of Potential
Professional photographer and author Tom Fox will be guest speaker of the Memphis Camera Club (MCC) on Feb. 16, 2017. A landscape photographer and author of several photography books, Fox is known for his inspirational approach to photography and conservation.
He is co-author of the books, The Wonder of It All and The Nature of Hope, which contain Fox's photographs and inspirational insights. His current project – a coffee table book titled The Nature of Excellence –illustrates the attributes of excellence with photographs of nature.
"As a professional photographer, I strive to exemplify the unparalleled beauty of our natural world – often backpacking for weeks in the wilderness – searching for the best compositions and waiting for the best light," Fox said.
Fox's Feb. 16 presentation for MCC, Exploring Arches and Canyonlands and the Art of Potential, will take viewers on a journey through two national parks in Utah renowned for their haunting moonscapes of arches, spires and red sandstone canyons.
The MCC presentation is reflective of his larger goals. "Through photography, I have been sharing the beauty while safeguarding the lands," said Fox, who works with several conservation organizations. "The promise of our resources tomorrow requires their protection today."
